Wine Description

Villa di Capezzana is a fine wine produced by the Contini Bonacossi family since 1925. Using only the best Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, the winemaking process involves the use of steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation in French wood tonneaux and bottle aging for at least 12 months. Intense ruby red color with purplish highlights, the wine has fruity notes of cherry and blackberry, juxtaposed with pleasant hints of spice and leather. On the palate, it is soft and fresh, with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity, and a broad and complex aftertaste with a long persistence tending toward sweet licorice.

Food Pairing and Tasting Tips:

Villa di Capezzana lends itself to being enjoyed in company, perhaps during an important dinner or lunch, accompanying red meats and roasts, as well as aged cheeses and pasta dishes with flavorful sauces. It is recommended to be served at a temperature of 16-18°C, after letting it breathe for at least half an hour. A wine to be enjoyed slowly, to fully appreciate its nuances and unique notes.

COLOR: Intense ruby red

AROMA: Elegant, with notes of sour cherry and raspberry well blended with ripe fruit.

TASTE: Soft, enveloping in the mouth, with soft tannins and good body. Acidity is present but well balanced by the tannic richness. Long finish, with an aftertaste that tends towards sweet licorice.
