Wine Description
The Villa di Capezzana is a prestigious wine produced by the Contini Bonacossi family since 1925. Using the finest Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, it undergoes a vinification process in steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in French oak tonneaux, and refinement in bottles for at least 12 months. With an intense ruby red color, it presents fruity notes of cherry and blackberry, as well as hints of spices and leather. Soft and fresh on the palate, with a perfect balance between tannins and acidity, and a long aftertaste of sweet licorice. The “10 anni” project is the result of the desire to highlight the extraordinary evolution and aging capabilities of Carmignano. Annually, the family reserves 3000 bottles, letting them age in the historical cellar of the company, and then reintroduces them to the market on the tenth year after the vintage.
Food Pairing and Tasting Tips:
The Villa di Capezzana “10 years” offers itself to the experience of being savored in pleasant company, possibly during a convivial lunch or a refined dinner, in pleasant combination with succulent red meats and flavorful roasts, but also with aged cheeses and delicious pasta dishes dressed with richly flavored sauces. It is suggested to be served at a temperature between 16 and 18°C, allowing it to breathe for at least thirty minutes.
COLOR: Intense ruby red
AROMA: Elegant, with notes of sour cherry and raspberry well blended with ripe fruit.
TASTE: Soft, enveloping in the mouth, with soft tannins and good body. Acidity is present but well balanced by the tannic richness. Long finish, with an aftertaste that tends towards sweet licorice.
