PNRR Project – Modernisation of the Olive Mill

The project

The olive mill has always been the beating heart of the Tenuta di Capezzana. It is here that the hand-picked olives from our groves are transformed into extra virgin olive oil — a process that carries the memory of generations while always looking forward.

In 2024, we chose to invest in this heart, renewing our machinery with new-generation technology that allows us to process olives with greater efficiency, reduced water and energy consumption, and an even higher quality of the finished product. A step that feels entirely consistent with our vision: to produce well, and to produce with respect for the land and for those who tend it.

This project was carried out with the support of Italy’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan, under the measure dedicated to the modernisation of olive oil mills.

Project details

Tenuta di Capezzana S.r.l. has completed an investment in the replacement and modernisation of machinery at its olive mill under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).

The investment covered the purchase and installation of new olive processing equipment: a horizontal centrifugal extractor (Superdecanter Euro X30), an electrical panel with Siemens PLC prepared for Industry 4.0, a six-container Housing 30” filtration system, and a double-stage stainless steel oil filtration trolley.

The project has delivered significant improvements in energy and water efficiency, reducing water consumption and optimising electricity. The new equipment also ensures superior organoleptic quality and shelf life of the extra virgin olive oil produced.
